About Us

The Gadsden Church of Christ seeks to glorify, worship and honor the Almighty God.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission and purpose is to glorify God

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
(Ephesians 3:20-21)

What to Expect When You Visit

It is during our worship time we gather to worship God with reverence and respect. Our hearts and minds are focused on Him and to Him we lift our praise.

During our worship services, you will find our time together to be simple, yet still meaningful. It is our desire to follow God’s Word to the best of our ability as we study His Word.

In our worship services, you will find acapella singing; that is, singing without instrumental accompaniment. We believe that God wants us to sing to him with the beauty of our voices alone. (Ephesians 5.19; Colossians 3.16).

You will also find that we take the Communion (the Lord’s Supper) every Sunday. We seek to follow the pattern of the New Testament Christians as they partook of the Communion. (Acts 20.7).

As you spend time with us, it is our prayer you will be blessed in being with us and would come back again.

What We Believe

Unity

We believe the Bible is the Word of God given to man so that we may open it, study it and find the answers bringing us to salvation through Jesus Christ. (See 2 Timothy 3.16-17)

Life and Death

We believe that once our life on Earth is over, there is only two choices. Our choice is to live in the joyous land of Heaven and to assist others in going there as well. (See Matthew 7.13-14)

God’s Control

We believe the Bible says that we should put our faith and trust in God because His ways are greater than our ways. (See Proverbs 3.5-6)

Salvation

We believe God wants us to change our lives by turning them over to Him, confessing His name and being baptized to have our sins washed away. (See Acts 2 and Acts 22)

A Christian’s Life

We believe that Christians are those who follow God’s Word above all else. (See Colossians 3.17)

F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you believe in baptism?

Yes, we believe in baptism for the remission of sins (Acts 2.38). The word of Paul speaks regarding baptism washing away sins (Acts 22.16). Further, baptism is than which puts one into Christ (Galatians 3.27)

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit?

We believe in the Holy Spirit. From passages in Acts 2.38 to Romans 8. We believe the spirit is given be God to His children. This is an in-depth topic that cannot be covered in a few sentences. You may contact us for more.

How should I dress for services?

There is no set “dress code” for our congregation, but we do ask you dress respectfully for yourself and others. As a person created by God, we are approaching Him in worship and we need to be respectful of that opportunity.

Why don’t you worship with instruments?

We believe that God wants us to use the beauty of the human voice, which He created to sing our praises to Him. We recommend seeing Ephesians 5.19 and Colossians 3.16 to see the beauty of the human voice in praise to God.

What version of the Bible do you use?

We use a variety of translations. We do not require, or promote one translation of the Bible. Our membership is encouraged to use a variety of translations in their personal study.

How do I join your church?

Our congregation does not have a “joining process” other than what we find in the Bible.

On the day of Pentecost, after Peter preached to the audience and many of them were baptized for the remission of their sins, then the Bible tells us that the Lord added them to the church. (See Acts 2.47).

We believe the Lord adds people to the church through their obedience to His Word.
